Specialist fire detection designer and manufacturer, Patol (www.patol.co.uk), has launched the LWM3, a new resettable controller for its Resettable Line-Type Heat Detection Cable, certified by VdS to EN 54-22.
Patol’s Resettable Line-Type Heat Detection system monitors temperature continuously along the full length of the cable and suits sites where heat risk builds gradually or access is restricted, such as car parks, road and rail tunnels, power generation and recycling facilities.
For projects that require EN 54 approval, the LWM3 now gives specifiers, installers and end users a further approved option for Resettable Line-Type Heat Detection.
Key features of the LWM3 include:
- Installation lengths of 10 to 300 metres
- Certified to Environmental Class III
- A braided cable option for added mechanical strength
- Junction boxes and end-of-line functional units available as standard accessories
The LWM3 is engineered specifically for Patol’s coaxial-style analogue resettable cable, and the two are designed and supplied together as a complete system.
Iain Cumner, Managing Director of Patol, said: “We’ve supplied specialist applications in Europe for years, but without EN 54-22 approval our analogue resettable cable couldn’t compete for general fire detection projects there. The LWM3 changes that, in Europe and in other markets that recognise EN 54.
Because we make both the cable and the controller, customers have one manufacturer behind the whole system, and one engineering team to call on from site survey and specification through to commissioning.
That combination of a manufacturer-led product and hands-on technical support is what customers have valued from Patol for decades. The LWM3 lets us offer it on a whole new set of projects.”
The LWM3 is available to order now, with units in stock and ready to ship.
Visitors to FIM Expo North East in Newcastle on 28 October can view the product on the Patol stand.
