Passive fire protection specialist Promat has appointed a new Project Specification Manager to support companies across the South East.
Working across North London, the Home Counties, Essex, and East Anglia Dom Mason will work as part of a wider UK team to support the passive fire protection specification requirements of construction projects across the country.
Having extensive experience of working within the passive fire protection industry, Dom brings a strong understanding of the impact of recent industry regulations on the construction sector.
Currently working towards the IFE Level 3 in Passive Fire Protection, Dom will support Promat’s growth strategy as it meets increased demand for passive fire protection, and supporting information and data, in line with the Building Safety Act.
In working across the South East, a key focus will be on structural steel projects in addition to large scale commercial units and high rise internal fit out projects.
Dom said: “The Building Safety Act has driven major change in the industry, and the need for additional information and support at the specification stage.
“Having worked to deliver this over the last few years following the introduction of the act, I look forward to continuing to support best practice in the specification of passive fire protection, especially with the level of testing that Promat offers.
“This is a major benefit for customers looking for a more harmonised approach that can be assessed for use in a wider range of applications. Being able to provide customers with recommendation details is essential to helping meet demand for more tested solutions.
