Alan Cox has recently been appointed to the Editorial Advisory Board of MDM Publishing Ltd where he will join some of the world’s most prominent fire industry experts in assisting the board and directors of MDM Publishing in sourcing the very best editorial content across its stable of leading fire industry journals.
Alan has been in the fire and safety profession for nearly 60 years – starting his career in both Warwickshire and the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Services. He then moved to the NHS looking after fire safety and then onto HSBC as their Senior Fire and Safety Officer. In recent years after leaving HSBC, he has worked with ANEC representing the consumer on fire safety matters.
During his career, he has worked in both fire fighting and enforcement, in the NHS he introduced many new initiatives improving patient safety and with HSBC he undertook a global fire and safety role.
Alan’s Specialties include fire investigation, means of escape, fixed installations, fire risk assessments, protection of computer installations and fire surveys.
