Steve McGuirk has agreed to join the Editorial Advisory Board of MDM Publishing Ltd. Steve’s impressive career in the UK Fire Service made him a perfect addition and the directors of MDM Publishing are delighted he has joined the team.
Steve had a distinguished forty-year career in the Fire and Rescue Service, leading three different Services over seventeen years as Chief Fire Officer, before retiring as the Chief Fire Officer of Greater Manchester in 2015. Since then, he has undertaken a portfolio career but remained very much involved with the fire sector. This has entailed undertaking several, significant consulting assignments in the UK and internationally but, primarily, he has been an expert witness to the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry since 2017. He took over as the Executive Officer for the Fire Sector Federation in May of 2023.
Mark Seton Director at MDM Publishing Ltd commented “The Fire Sector Federation aims to secure a safer society from fire and to facilitate the development of an informed fire sector, through original research and objective analysis. Their work echoes the content of all our magazines and websites. Inviting Steve to help guide our content and promote the Fire Sector Federation will only further our cause to educate the ever-changing and multi-faceted fire sector and I am delighted to be working with him.”
Steve commented on the appointment… “I’m delighted to be joining the MDM Editorial Advisory Board and look forward to working with the team to support the continued production of high-quality editorials that focus on the priorities of the fire sector. It also creates an excellent platform for the Fire Sector Federation to promote the analysis and discussion of the key areas driving fire safety in our society.”
