In the world of firefighting, staying ahead of the curve is paramount. As fire services across the UK continually seek ways to enhance their operational efficiency and effectiveness, Rosenbauer UK continues to be at the forefront of innovation with a host of groundbreaking products set to enhance firefighting tactics and improve response capabilities. Our annual ‘Tech Day’ events return for 2024, this time with the ambition to host in multiple UK locations, the first of which is scheduled for 10 July 2024 at our UK HQ in Holmfirth, Huddersfield, and another at a soon-to-be-disclosed location in the south of the UK, and we are excited to give you an insight of what’s in store.
Cutting-edge cutting solutions
First up is Rosenbauer UK’s impressive line-up of Penetrating Extinguishing Systems, featuring the RFC CUTTEX and the DRILL-X systems. Designed to meet the diverse needs of UK Fire Services, these cutting-edge solutions offer both abrasive and non-abrasive options for precision firefighting.
The RFC CUTTEX System harnesses the power of Ultra High Pressure (UHP) technology, coupled with an innovative venturi-based aggregate delivery system, supplements current extinguishing systems, to offer new tactical possibilities, while increasing safety for firefighters while also committing fewer personnel to a scenario.
The RFC CUTTEX can swiftly penetrate through obstacles, cutting a 3–5mm hole in approximately 20 seconds (through 4mm steel), and extinguish fires with unrivalled efficiency. The system is designed for use on brick, concrete, wooden, plasterboard and metal surfaces without the need to enter a hazardous compartment and extinguish from a safe position.
Alternatively, the DRILL-X removes the need for an abrasive aggregate and achieves similar results by drilling as a means of penetration to begin extinguishing. It stands as a testament to adaptability, with interchangeable tips catering to various materials, ensuring equal situational relevance. Like the RFC CUTTEX system, the DRILL-X removes the need for a firefighter to enter a hazardous compartment, significantly reducing exposure to harmful particles and ensures no oxygen is introduced to the fire during the extinguishing process.
As a lower-pressure alternative to the RFC CUTTEX, the DRILL-X is almost maintenance free (up to 10,000 drilling cycles) and utilises the power of the pump to achieve rotation on the drilling component thanks to integrated water jets, up to 425mm deep in penetration. The system itself has the ability to adjust flow rate and jet angle as required while the scenario evolves.
These tools promise to revolutionize firefighting operations, empowering firefighters to tackle emergencies with alternative and safer tactics.

A world with wildfires
Recognising the increasing threat of wildfires, Rosenbauer UK can offer a fully comprehensive range of products, tailored specifically for wildland firefighting. From traditional hand tools like rakes and axes to cutting-edge backpack-style petrol pumps equipped with wetting agents, firefighters are able to be armed with the tools they need to combat a range of situations.
This year has seen the introduction of the G10 Suit, available in both standard and premium versions: one for wildfire only and one for combined wildfire and technical rescue operations, meeting ISO 1161 for flame and heat resistance and EN 15385 wildfire standards. The G10 minimizes weight, at under 2kg for a complete set, while maximising heat and moisture dissipation and mobility. Example kits are available from both our sales and service teams
In the second half of 2024, our new wildfire and technical rescue HEROS H10 helmet will launch. Utilising the adjustability and inner harness system of its structural firefighting brother, the HEROS Titan, UK Fire Services can offer a complete range of helmets to their firefighters from Rosenbauer, and take advantage of universal components and spare parts, along with our leading customer support and service.
This year will also see the launch of our F10 Gloves, underscoring Rosenbauer UK’s commitment to ensuring firefighter safety in the most challenging environments and our complete offering philosophy. With these innovative solutions, firefighters can confront wildfires with confidence, knowing they have the support and protection they need to operate effectively.
Step into safety
Building upon our foundation of leading PPE solutions, Rosenbauer UK can now offer our next generation of firefighting footwear with the complete BOROS boots range.
When designing the new BOROS range, Rosenbauer put the ‘personal’ aspect of PPE at the forefront of the design.
Boasting four distinct wearing systems, including traditional slip on, zip & lace, BOA fastening, the range is complete by our in-house-designed ratchet quick-fastening system. The BOROS B4 model’s pioneering ratchet system and adjustable ankle and calf fittings offer unparalleled comfort and protection.
Engineered in collaboration with Michelin, renowned for their expertise in rubber and tyre manufacturing, the boots feature anti-slip soles and tread-depth indicators, ensuring optimal performance in the most demanding conditions.
The uniformity across the range means brigades no longer need to specify a single, generic boot style but can allow firefighters to choose a boot style that suits their preference, while maintaining the professional and standardised look services require.

Efficient technology, flexible solutions
Rounding out our impressive line-up of new offerings in 2024 is the ET (Efficient Technology) range of fire appliances, embodying a perfect blend of versatility and affordability.
Offering increased flexibility in specification compared to premium alternatives, the ET range empowers fire services to tailor vehicles to their unique needs without compromising on quality, at a cost-effective price point.
From commercial chassis options including single and crew cab configurations, to innovative equipment handling systems, the ET range represents an alternative in firefighting technology, where functionality meets fiscal responsibility.
Our ET range of vehicles benefits from bespoke tailoring, made in our European factory with options such as fold-down steps, full-length lockers and pump-bay door options, added with our reliable and highly regarded built-in pump made in house.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming ‘Tech Day’ events, where a selection these groundbreaking products will, again, take centre stage, UK Fire Services are encouraged to not miss the opportunity to witness these innovations first-hand.
As always, UK fire services will be able to experience the power of the PANTHER ARFF Vehicle with HRET and Piercing Tool. We anticipate the opportunity to gain insights into real-world applications of our RTE ROBOT, which is soon to be delivered to the first UK brigade, with no shortage of opportunities to explore.
For fire services eager to get up close and personal with these cutting-edge solutions and enhance their firefighting capabilities, Rosenbauer UK extends a warm invitation to attend the upcoming events and discover the future of firefighting technology.
