NCEC, the chemical experts at Ricardo, are delighted to announce that 2023 is our 50th anniversary. We are proud to have been supporting the hazmat community from our conception in 1973 and the Hazmat conference has always been our way of celebrating our strong relationship with this community.
To celebrate our 50th anniversary, we will be launching our inaugural Hazmat Awards at our annual Hazmat conference – the ‘must go’ event for professionals in the field! The newly launched awards will celebrate achievements in the hazmat field from both individuals and teams.
Nominations for now open for emergency services and industry worldwide and we invite you all to take part and nominate those who have truly embraced the hazmat spirit. Categories include:
- Outstanding newly qualified Hazmat Officer
- Outstanding achievement by a Hazmat Officer
- Outstanding achievement by Police CBRN or transport (DG) officers
- Outstanding achievement to improve hazmat safety in industry
- Outstanding training initiative for specialist Hazmat staff
- Outstanding training initiative for non-specialist staff
- Outstanding equipment development
- Outstanding research in the field of Hazmat

Hazmat 2023 will be a two-day conference drawing on the knowledge and experience of a broad range of multi-agency hazmat professionals and industry leaders, including NCEC’s emergency responders and chemical experts.
