With the emergence of new risks and hazards, firefighters are always facing new challenges. Fires are potentially more dangerous because of the increasing heat load, duration, and toxicity of structural fires.
MSA is developing technologically-advanced safety equipment designed to help meet today’s changing fireground dynamics. As a leading manufacturer providing firefighters with head-to-toe protection, MSA is dedicated to continuing to innovate on behalf of firefighters around the world ensuring their personal protective equipment will work together to help keep them safer than ever before possible.
With all this in mind MSA has developed the M1 SCBA. This modular system brings to the market a modern vision of a breathing apparatus in order to improve firefighter safety. MSA is pleased to introduce the M1 SCBA Platform for the Future to all UK firefighters – live at this year’s Emergency Services Show.

Come to see first-hand the M1 SCBA breathing apparatus and discover breakthrough innovations, including a dedicated Entry Control Board for incident monitoring, the MSA HUB base station, and a fully integrated voice communication headset into the G1 mask.
To celebrate the launch of the new M1 SCBA, MSA organizes the M1 Readiness Race at their stand F65 to see who can don and doff the M1 breathing apparatus in record time. The winner each day will receive a special collector’s edition of the MSA GALLET F1XF fire helmet. EVERYONE who takes part will receive an MSA t-shirt and MSA will donate £10 to The Fire Fighters Charity for every participant in the race.

And if that wasn’t enough – Jason Traynor and Matt Quigley from MSA will be discussing technology and innovation in the Fire Service in the Emerging Technologies Theatre on Thursday 19th September. Hear them discuss what’s worked well, what firefighters are demanding and what the future holds in the free CPD seminar.
