FIRE AID and International Development is an association of UK charities and services with a mutual interest in providing ethical and sustainable donations of fire and rescue aid and training to those in need of such assistance. It was formed in 2012 by a group of like-minded organisations who have been operating for many years, successfully donating equipment, training and expertise to over 40 countries. Working across four continents we deliver projects in Zimbabwe, Ukraine, Romania, South Sudan and Nepal to name a few.
FIRE AID is a UK registered charity, chaired by Jim Fitzpatrick MP, and is managed by a Steering Committee of its founding members. The charity acts as a hub for its 26 member organisations to share expertise, best practice, funding and equipment via quarterly meetings and access to an online database. The database is a platform for sharing donated equipment, which saves perfectly useable fire and rescue kit from being scrapped.
FIRE AID facilitates and encourages partnerships and joint projects between its members in order to deliver much-needed equipment and training to countries facing the greatest challenges.
