The unique and innovative FireMaster Concertina Egress has been tested to BS EN 1634-1 and UL 10D and is the first multi-side fire curtain to offer an integral egress door.
The FireMaster Concertina Egress features the benefit of an integral egress door allowing the safe evacuation of building occupants or emergency services through the barrier without the need to lift the barrier once deployed.
Coopers Fire listened to their customers and worldwide markets and the requirement for an egress door within the Concertina fire curtain was becoming increasingly needed. Our engineering team looked at the requirements and how an egress door could be integrated into the Concertina product.
This product can be used as part of a fire engineering solution to protect a building and its occupants from the effects of fire and is tested and compliant to UL 10D and BS EN 1634-1.
Benefits of the FireMaster Concertina fire curtain with an egress door are as follows:
- Barrier egress – Egress of evacuees or access for emergency services through the barrier
- Any point of egress – Can include multiple egress doors at any exit point
- Standard configuration – Square, Rectangular, L Shaped and Circular FireMaster Open and Closed Concertina products available
- Customised configuration – FireMaster Open and Closed designs can be configured to suit a variety of non-standard shapes and sizes
- No columns and corner posts required – No support posts required; the Concertina offers open plan environments.
The Coopers Fire closed Concertina fire curtain can be shaped into closed cylindrical columns and closed box sections, which can be applied to atriums, stairs and escalators with a maximum drop of 8m. The open Concertina fire curtain can be shaped to follow contours, curves and L sections, making them ideal for complex open-plan spaces that incorporate flowing lines or uncommon shapes in their designs.
The FireMaster Concertina fire curtain is designed to be invisible until deployed, recessed into ceilings and completely self-contained. This preserves the highest standards of fire safety without compromising the architect’s vision.
