Manufacturer Bull Products has enhanced health and safety on a student
accommodation site with its life-saving fire protection equipment.
Set to open this September 2018, Bull has been protecting Chaucer House in
Portsmouth over the last two years with its Cygnus Fire Call Points and First Aid
Alarms, and Cygnus Heat Detectors.
Chaucer House also invested in Bull’s Fire, First Aid and Spill Responder Stations
which ensured fire extinguishers, first aid equipment and spill kits were kept in one
convenient location. The stations, which are fully mobile, were customised with
bespoke branding, signage and emergency plans.
The team has been working with construction specialist, RG Group, to ensure
workers’ safety remained a top priority during the development of Chaucer House
which will comprise of over 800 bedrooms.
Simon Felstead, Senior Project Manager at RG Group, said: “We are really pleased
with how the Cygnus Alarm System has performed since the project began. The
system is adaptable and meets the needs of the project and the responder stations
ensure workers have all the right safety equipment to hand in an emergency.”
Ross Markham, managing director at Bull Products, says: “It has been great to be a
part of the Chaucer House project and protecting the site over the last two years.
The site has gone through several construction phases but due to the flexibility of
the Cygnus Alarm System, the safety on site has not been compromised.
“Over the last year, the Cygnus Alarm System has been installed on several student
accommodation developments and we’re looking forward to expanding into this
sector further.”
