With specially formed aerofoil blades, the PRV-F2 delivers superior efficiency for the application of stairwell pressurisation. This latest offering provides an enhanced volume of air passing through the blades.
Stairwell pressurisation is crucial for facilitating the evacuation of occupants from a tall building in the event of a fire. These systems preserve human life by preventing the spread of smoke into escape routes. Smoke inhalation causes between 50% and 80% of fire-related deaths.
Pressure relief vents work by controlling the air pressure differences between adjoining spaces, ensuring the air pressure in the emergency escape route (stairwells, in high-rise buildings) is greater than the air pressure in the adjacent area where the fire is raging.
Properly designed pressure relief vents are the proven method of maintaining these set pressures. The maximum and minimum stairwell pressure parameters should be sustained within agreed parameters prescribed within BS EN 12101-6:2005.

The PRV-F2 offers single-way venting, a 240-minute fire resistance test to BS EN 1364-1: 2014 + A1 2018, a pressure setting of 45Pa and a 10 year warranty as standard. For internal siting, the blade balancing system allows vertical mounting. A variety of bespoke external solutions are also available, including weather protection using fixed low loss louvres.
