UK Firefighter Hub is thrilled to reveal the results of our joint photography competition with UK Fire Magazine, with the winning entries set to feature on the front cover of the November 2026 issue.
We received a high number of entries from firefighters and photography enthusiasts across the country, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share their work with us. We absolutely love seeing your photographs and pictures, and the quality of submissions this time around was truly outstanding.
First Place: Lucy-Emma
Taking the top spot is Lucy-Emma, with a striking image of a line-up of Scania fire engines from Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service fighting a blaze in a high-rise block on Kingland Road, Luton. The photograph captures the intensity of the incident, with blue lights flashing and firefighters in full turnout gear working at the scene. This powerful image will take pride of place in the November issue of UK Fire Magazine.

Second Place: Jacob Gary
Our runner-up is Jacob Gary, with a photograph of Station 33 Southport’s line-up, taken in April 2026 after their new Emergency One Scorpion high-reach extendable turret appliance went on the run. The image showcases three appliances side by side, proudly displayed outside Southport Community Fire & Ambulance Station.

Our Favourites
While only the winner and runner-up feature in the magazine, we couldn’t resist sharing a few more of our favourite entries here on the Hub.
Lucy-Emma makes a second appearance with a fantastic photograph of a Bedfordshire & Luton Fire & Rescue Aerial Ladder Platform, a Volvo-mounted Bronto Skylift F34 RLX, showcasing the impressive scale of this specialist appliance.

Lee Norton, of Cranborne Fire Station in Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, captured a powerful image of a firefighter walking across scorched ground after a fire, with red hoses snaking across the charred landscape and a water jet visible in the background.

Mason Miller submitted a striking portrait of a firefighter removing their breathing apparatus (BA) set after finishing work at a fire, a moment that captures the human side of the job and the relief and exhaustion after the job is done.

Another Competition Coming Soon
We’ve been blown away by the response, and we’re pleased to announce that we plan to run another photography competition soon. So if you didn’t win this time, or if you missed the deadline, keep your camera ready; we can’t wait to see what you capture next.
