More than 8,500 law enforcement and emergency services personnel from around the world will gather in Western Australia for 10 days of competition across more than 60 sports
The California Police Athletic Federation (CPAF), a non-profit organization committed to promoting sport and physical fitness among first responders, is proud to announce that the 2027 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) will take place in Perth, Western Australia, from Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 21, 2027.
The 2027 WPFG will bring together more than 8,500 active, volunteer and retired law enforcement and emergency services personnel from around the world for 10 days of competition, camaraderie and adventure. Athletes will compete across more than 60 sports, with events taking place at venues throughout Perth and Western Australia.
“Perth 2027 represents an exciting new chapter for the World Police & Fire Games,” said Jim King, President of the California Police Athletic Federation. “The Games bring together first responders from around the world through the shared values of service, competition and camaraderie. We are thrilled to see the Games head to Western Australia and look forward to welcoming thousands of athletes to Perth for what promises to be an unforgettable experience.”
The WPFG are among the largest multi-sport events in the world for first responders. Since their debut in San Jose, California, in 1985, the WPFG have been held biennially in cities across the globe, bringing together athletes from law enforcement, fire, corrections and other emergency services for international competition and fellowship.
Perth 2027 will showcase the breadth and diversity of the WPFG with sports organized across 10 categories: Ballistic, Combat, Cycling, Fire, Fitness, Individual, Racquet, Running, Team and Water Sports. The competition will feature both traditional athletic events and specialized competitions designed around the skills and physical demands of first responders. Events will include Track & Field, Swimming, Toughest Competitor Alive, Ultimate Firefighter, Triathlon, Boxing, Cornhole, Indoor Rowing, Muster and many more.
The WPFG will be hosted throughout Perth, offering competitors world-class sporting facilities alongside an extraordinary backdrop of coastal beauty, natural landscapes and a vibrant cultural scene. The event marks a historic first for Western Australia, with the WPFG being held in Western Australia for the first time and marking the WPFG’s third visit down under, following Melbourne in 1995 and Adelaide in 2007. It will provide an opportunity to showcase the region to thousands of athletes, family members, supporters and visitors from around the world. The WPFG are open to eligible active, volunteer and retired personnel from law enforcement and emergency services agencies around the world. The 2027 WPFG will take place March 12–21, 2027, in Perth, Western Australia.
