LUKAS Hydraulik GmbH, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic rescue and recovery solutions, has been recognised with the iF DESIGN AWARD, reinforcing its position as a brand where engineering excellence and thoughtful design go hand in hand.
Presented by the internationally respected iF International Forum Design GmbH, the award recognises LUKAS’ achievement in user-focused system presentation, particularly through its rerailing digital experience, developed in collaboration with digital agency Neyroo. With entries submitted annually from organisations around the world, the iF DESIGN AWARD is widely regarded as one of the most rigorous and credible global benchmarks for design quality.
The award-winning LUKAS project impressed the international jury with its clear focus on usability, functional clarity and real-world application. Design is not an end in itself; it is the bridge between complex technology and real user impact. The rerailing digital experience demonstrates this through:
- Intuitive: Complex rerailing scenarios are made tangible and easy to understand
- Versatile: A valuable tool for sales presentations, trade fairs and online engagement
- Thoughtfully Designed: Functionality combined with a user journey that sets new standards
This recognition highlights not only the performance of the technology itself, but also how effectively complex systems are made accessible to users operating under pressure.
The award was officially accepted on behalf of LUKAS by Jessica Forster, Director of Fire and Safety EU Marketing at IDEX Fire & Safety, at the iF DESIGN AWARD ceremony held in Berlin on Monday.
“Our products are technically complex, so how they are explained and experienced really matters,” said Jessica Forster. “This award recognises the effort that goes into presenting LUKAS solutions in a way that engages people and helps them quickly understand what the technology does and why it matters in real operations. It is a credit to the teams who prioritise clarity and accessibility alongside engineering performance.”
As part of IDEX Fire & Safety, LUKAS continues to invest in innovation that goes beyond hardware alone, placing equal emphasis on usability, communication and sustainability. The 2026 iF DESIGN AWARD win reflects a broader commitment to developing solutions that support professionals throughout the entire product lifecycle, from understanding and training through to deployment in the field.
This achievement further strengthens LUKAS’ standing within the international fire, rescue and recovery sector, underlining its long-standing mission to design equipment and experiences that perform reliably in the moments that matter most.
